How many toys does your child have? A few? A lot? Or maybe mountains of stuff nobody could even count?!
Grandparents, aunties, friends.. they all love spoiling our kids. Don't we? But does it have an impact on how our children develop?
In fact, it does. When it comes to creativity and overall development, less is more. Wonder why?
Studies show that kids who have less toys to play with are actually more creative, concentrated and they play longer!
There is a reason behind it: when kids play with the same toy for longer, they concentrate on it more. They need to come up with more ways of playing with it and by doing so, become more creative.
Too many toys can be disruptive to your baby and even slow down their developmental processes. It is recommended to give children less choice when it comes to things they can play with to avoid frustration and over-stimulation.
What do you think? Time to change the rules of the game? ;) I start from tomorrow!
