The Jeep Single Jogger is high in my rating system for jogging strollers. I have begged, borrowed and rented a number of different units over the course of my three young childrens baby and toddler stage. We are certainly not out of that stage yet, I still have a 2 year old and she loves to be out with daddy taking it all in when I’m burning up the pavement.
Saving The Best For Last with Cheap baby stroller
This was not the first jogging stroller that I bought, nope, quite the opposite. The first one I had was an old blue thing with only foot brakes and a lousy restraint system. It worked and was safe, but I kinda doubt it was all that comfortable. This jogging stroller has all the bells and whistles, is built much better and is a joy to jog with.
The nice people at Kolcraft definitely put some effort and thought into the Jeep and it shows. I’m always a stickler for attention to detail so let me point out some of the nicer details:
ibaby – This is their resigned sound system for you and baby. There is a compartment that you can stick your mp3 player into and close. It’s neat.
Multiple Brakes – The Jeep has both a handbrake for the front wheel and foot brakes for the rear wheel. I like that they bothered to add the front wheel brake, it’s a safety detail that’s smart to add.
Odomoter – Built-In – They have a slick digital odometer that tracks speend and distance. It’s built right in, you don’t have to haul out your iPhone and start a timer…
16 Inch Tires All Around – Nothing beats big, thick air filled tires for going over rough terrain.
It’s Heavy!
It’s no heavier than any other jogging stroller, but it does weight in at 40 pounds. Fortunately the wheels come off to make it a bit easier, but jogging strollers are heavy because they are built to withstand more punishment, thats just the way it is.
You Can Handle It
It’s nice that stroller manufacturers have figured out that men and women are not typically the same height. My wife and I are seperated by several inches, but we both use the jogger. That adjustable handle makes it very easy for both of us to deal with it. Sometimes mid-jog, for whatever reason, I feel the need to adjust anyway.
Lean On Me
Nine times out of ten, my little ones fall asleep when I have them out for a jogging stroll. In fact, in the early days, this was my method of giving Mommy a break, I would take out our oldest girly(our only one at the time…) and she would nod off in about 3 minutes. By the time I returned home, she had a decent nap and was much easier to deal with and in better humour for Mommy.
Roll With It
This is Cheap baby stroller that glides down the street and can handle tough terrain very well. That front wheel doesn’t swivel, and for a single jogger, thats the way you want it. The swivels are fine for strolling, but are not good for actually jogging or nature trails. That’s why they come with a lock. But this thing rolls like a dream when you are pushing it.
All Terrain
This jogging baby stroller has been everywhere with me. It has seen snow, mud, sand you name it, I’ve jogged in it and my little ones have come along for the ride. Make sure you dress them appropriately use sunscreen when you need it and get out there and jog!
