1500's
There is little information during this time, but that which I could find I will place. (This was also a difficult time in history)
- The first time diapers/nappies were actually really used (before this they were usually naked or swaddled).
- It started during the reign of Queen Elizabeth in England.
- Not similar to today
- Times were difficult
- Water were used sparingly
- Diapers were rarely changed
- The soiled nappy were rarely washed
- Solids were shaken out and hung up to dry (then used again when dry)
- The term diapers only originated from the 1800's
- We are very privileged to know about hygiene, to have easy access to water and for electricity now a days.
