Baby Pic of the Day - Mama is Tired!

Our sleeping beauty has her days and nights mixed up and this mama is tired! On one hand I'm thankful for Zara's long daytime naps because I feel very productive. On the other hand, when midnight rolls around and then passes and she's still awake nursing, I feel ragged LOL With a toddler, sleeping in really isn't an option either.

This week we begin the transition to being awake during the day. We'd love any tips you have to share if you've been through this stage with your kids before.

Hope you enjoyed a great weekend!

Here are some tips from my wife and I.

  • expose the baby to more daylight
  • unwrap the baby during awake time
  • start small but then increase "play time" before or after each feeding

It is hard work. Lots of sleepless nights. But you will make it. Blessings!

@sumatranate - Thank you for the tips! We greatly appreciate them. I'll be sure to write an update post when we make it!

I’m sure you have read everything already, but my tips are daylight all day, darkness and quiet for bedtime. Set your routine early (we do last feeding, bath, PJs, book and bed by 8pm), sometimes earlier if he is showing sleepy signs. Good luck!

I'm always looking for more tips! Thanks for sharing :) She's falling asleep on average 90 mins earlier now - we're at 10/10:30 pm but she's now sleeping five hour stretches at night so I can't complain. We'll continue working towards our 8 pm goal.

Oh that’s great!! When I hit 5 hours of sleep a night it was a game changer, I felt half alive again! Lol

We almost named our daughter Zara. Your Zara is beautiful. Bad ass name!!! We went with Huxley:)

Ooo - Huxley is a great name! Thank you for your kind words and for stopping by!

So sweet! Hope you are taking care of yourself <3 Make sure you are eating good foods. Being a new mother is exhausting!

@janinemelanie - Thank you for the reminder :)
