bersislam.com -
Nafis Yaakub, a 17-year-old youth hafiz of the Koran from Cambodia is now the talk and talk of the world after his fierce recital from behind bars praised by millions of people on Youtube.
The beginning of this incident was before Ramadhan last year (2014), when Nafis Yaakub finished teaching Al-Quran and Isra Mi'raj in Kelantan, Malaysia, he was arrested by the local Police as unable to show the Identity Card (KTP) and Passport is dead. He was sentenced to be behind the trellis for six months.
As Nafis Yaakub told TH Film on Youtube (27/03), one night Nafis was sitting waiting for food delivered by a prison officer. Since the air is very hot, he opened the shirt and made it as the headband to sleep. That's when he read the letter Al-Qolam just to muroja'ah (repeat) memorization that has become routine practice.
Her friend's cell with other prison inmates asked her to read aloud for listening. It was then that the prison officers who delivered the rice arrived at Nafis's cell and finally listened.
Well, one of the prison guards who escorted the moment was recorded through a camera phone without being noticed by Nafis, then upload the video to Youtube.
Now Ustadz Nafis Yaakub whose real name is Muhammad Jamaluddin, has been released from prison after his term of imprisonment was cut to four months. Many mosques in Malaysia asked him to become a priest and teach the Koran. But Nafis chose to return to his hometown because he wanted to look after his two sick parents.
Masya Allah, who is guarding the Quran then Allah will keep it all the time.
