Welcome to my wild Friday night. Why, what do normal people do on Friday nights? Do y'all not stay up and bake?

I adore when I find flour in a legitimate cloth flour sack. It's local, too - in-state, anyway.

This is what happens when you treat rapid rise yeast like active dry yeast. It all worked out! But when I poured it into the big bowl and that bubble was popped, it smelled like alcohol!

At some point you have to give up your silly ideas about spoons or notions of beaters and just mix dough with your hands.

Can we all take a moment to appreciate the fact that I successfully flipped the Kindle camera around and took the photo with my wrist because I wasn't going to use my fingers for obvious reasons...

In case you ever wondered what the inside of a cinnamon roll looked like.

Rollin', rollin', rollin'...

For the white icing, I make Portsmouth icing from the Fannie Farmer Cookbook.

NOM!

The recipe:
https://www.passionforsavings.com/cinnabon-cinnamon-rolls-copycat-recipe/

Portsmouth Icing:
1/4 cup bitter, melted
1/4 cup milk or cream
Vanilla (half a tablespoon? A splash? I don't measure it)
Powdered/confectioner's sugar to thickness (don't measure this, either)

This is a copycat Cinnabon recipe that I've made a few times and is always a big hit. So worth it!
