Different species of bamboo and tree are abundantly available in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh. Bamboos and trees are inseparable items in indigenous life. Starting from birth to death, bamboos and trees are needed at every stage of indigenous life. Cradles, different pots and holders, houses, platforms of house, paddy and vegetable carrying materials, materials for different kind of worship, funeral/cremation objects etc. are made out of bamboo and tree. Canes are made out of comparatively tender bamboos for making various catchy crafts for daily domestic use. In a life of indigenous people in forest, inseparability of bamboo and tree is a dazzling truth. These bamboos and trees (logs) are normally transported from dense forest by floating in streams or shoulder-carried if the destination is close by. Floating of such bamboo/timber rafts are normally done by indigenous youngsters and adolescents at times. Here you can see in the photo that an adolescent is maneuvering the bamboo raft to his destination through a swelled stream in hilly region.
