The Bandai DX Chogokin Valkyrie line is always very hard to get. Especially mecha from the main characters, it always soldout just the moment the online stores are opened for pre-order. Luckily I got this one 2nd hand on Yahoo Japan with a decent price!
First impression of the figure is that I can feel the weight, there are certainly some diecast used in the inner frame. The fighter mode is pretty sexy! It is rock solid, does not feel any loose part although it is a transformable toy. The proportion is excellent. The cockpit can open and it comes with the pilot (Alto Saotome ). The landing gear is well hidden in the legs and body area. (Nail is required to take out the landing gear!)
A SMS base is included in this figure which can make a flying pose for the fighter mode. At least one more display option to choose from.
The gerwalk mode is still very good. Transformation is not difficult. It is well balanced, cause the leg is articulated enough to balance the weight without the nose cone leaning forward. It comes with the gun pod and shield. Again, the base helps increased the display options for this mode.
No surprise that the Battroid mode is as good as the other modes. Again, the transformation is not difficult. The figure is solid, the joints are sturdy, hence it is very posable. The proportion is as good as it gets. The color and markings are clear and sharp! But still need to be careful for paint scratch though!
The gun pod, shield and assault knife are all the accessories. The gun pod is extendable. The assault knife is stored inside the shield.
After experiencing this figure, there is no doubt that this line is the best Valkyrie toys in the industry! It is so hard to get with a sound reason!!
