I recently visited the floating market at Amphawa. This place is amazing! You will find a lot of very good restaurants serving noodles or barbecue sea-food and old-style cafes. It's a perfect place to collect souvenirs and take pictures.
It's very easy to go there from Bangkok. You can take the local train (BTS) to Victory station then a minivan to Samutsongklam. You should pay 50 baht per person and reach within 1h if no traffic jam. Your destination is Amphawa district of Samutsongklam.

For the first day, I stayed in an hostel. I paid 450 bath for one night. The room was small and the bathroom outside the room but people are nice. It was very typical and not far from the train market.
At Maeklong city, you must visit the train station. There is a very unusual market which is taking place on the railway. Interesting isn't it? The town is full of tourist and I am coming on time ☘️ lucky me!
When the train arrives all the stalls are packing their products to let it pass then the market starts again, back to normal!
Around the river, named Mae Klong, you will find a lot of temples. For some of them you need to go by boat but you will have to book in advance, at least one day earlier. The boat ticket is 900 bath for private boat but you can share with other people to make it less expensive. You can buy the boat ticket at the floating market.
You can sit inside the temple and pray.
And do meditation as well.
The best time to visit the temples is the morning because it's not too hot and less crowded.

Second day I stayed in a resort just the front of the river, facing the floating market, I paid 1,200 bath for one night with breakfast included.
The resort is cozy and receptionist very nice.
Every room has a name. For example, mine was Supannika and means Cochlospermum regium.
I was waiting for the monk.
Monk coming at 05:30 - 06:40 AM. Have to wake up early.
You can give some food to monk and anything else they might need.
The water goes down in the morning.
And up in the afternoon.
