Eid means joy. Eid means happiness. If it is spent with family members, the level of happiness increases manifold. If the Eid is Eid-ul-Fitr, then the joy increases manifold.
After a long month of fasting, abstinence and sacrifice, Muslims celebrate this day with great joy. Everyone has a happy smile on their face. Bangladesh is a predominantly Muslim country and Eid ul Fitr is one of the biggest annual festivals.
On this day, all Muslims forget all their sorrows and rejoice as much as they can. This is like a dam broken happy fair. This happiness is most prevalent among children. On this day everyone wears new clothes as best they can.
The Eid of the elders begins with the Eid prayers with everyone. At the end of the Eid prayer, everyone happily hugs each other and everyone becomes one, forgetting the difference between the rich and the poor. The joy of elders is not less, they spend the whole day chatting with friends, visiting relatives' houses.
My Eid is spent like this.
I live in a village in Bogra district of Bangladesh. Although I stay out of my district most of the time for studies but come home during Eid holidays. On the eve of Eid, all our friends get together. All male members of the family to perform Eid prayers together
let's go After offering prayers, visit the grave and cuddle with Saba and come home. Everyone finished eating together and went to hang out with friends. Everyone goes to everyone's house. Then I went to visit my relatives.
But now the mood of that Eid is lost. The main reason for this is work engagement. Everyone is busy with their own work.
Now, even when everyone comes home for Eid holidays, there is no chat like before. Most of the time is spent watching various programs on TV channels.
