Bangladesh youth delegation meets Modi in Delhi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday interacted with members of Bangladesh youth delegation at his office in New Delhi, India.
The 100-member youth delegation left Dhaka on Saturday on an eight-day visit to different Indian cities like New Delhi, Agra and Mumbai.

The young Bangladeshi delegates are witnessing prominent cultural and historical sites, business centres, apart from holding interactions with Indian youths in educational, business, IT and technological institutions, a press release says.

Earlier, the High Commission of India organised a flagging off ceremony of the Bangladesh youth delegation to India at Dhaka on March 22, 2018.

This year marks the sixth year of the Bangladesh youth delegation's visit to India. The first such Bangladesh youth delegation visited India in 2012, and this programme has been continuing since then every year, the press release adds.

Members of the 2018 delegation include 52 young Bangladeshi women and 48 young men, drawn from different regions of the country, diverse backgrounds and educational institutions of Bangladesh.

They comprise of doctors, artists, sportspersons, journalists, engineers, models, radio jockeys, humanities and science students and social workers, among others.

The young Bangladeshis also met Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at her office during their visit, UNB reports quoting Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
