I'm sure most people know me as a relatively rational and reasonable guy. Below is probably one of the most insane rants I've ever had. I've even read it and thought, "that guy is a real nutter". Alas, I feel the need to get it off my chest. It's a summary of just a few of the economic topics and issues I've been researching lately. Inspired by the backdrop of a dangerously divided America. So if global economics or insane rants aren't your bag, feel free to skip this one.
Here goes.
tl;dr; never mind, I must have a brain aneurysm or something. Also, fractional reserve banking.
** insane rant **
Trump is not the problem, The dirty liberals are not the problem (though, they should clean themselves up, the filthy buggers). There are people in the Deep State (yes there actually is a Deep State) that love to see the population distracted with all this bullshit. People are being shown a shiny toy while their pockets are being picked and they smile and say "hit me again and put some stank on it!". "The wall" they yell. "The healthcares" they cry. Meanwhile have you ever even heard of fractional reserve banking? Not very sexy sounding is it? But you'd do yourself a favor with a YouTube search. Think the housing crisis was bad? Think the dot com bubble was bad? wait till you see what's next, the big one is coming and it's gonna be a dick-punch to the world economy.
How did we recover from the housing mess? We put it on one giant credit card, to the tune of 4 TRILLION dollars ($4,000,000,000,000! It doesn't even look like a real number). That's $12,300 for every man, woman and child in the U.S.. Family for 4? Here's your bill for $50,000. You gave the corrupt immoral banks $12,300. How's that feel? Roll that around in your mouth and get a good taste of it. They didn't even take you to dinner first.
Wikipedia says "The US Federal Reserve and central banks around the world took steps to expand money supplies to avoid the risk of a deflationary spiral." "expand the money supply"? WTF is that? They just printed a fuckton of money, like on a printer, making your money worth less in the process. You paid that bill (this is how they got your $12,300).
Did you know inflation wasn't always a thing? Inflation was flat until around 1913. Which, interestingly enough, was the year the federal reserve was created (don't get me started on the "federal" reserve). We'd think it weird if prices didn't go up over the years. Imagine a new car costing $1,200.
$2 TRILLION for the Iraq war? Fuck it, put that on the card too. Think there would have been a war if everyone had to write a personal check for $1,200 ($4,800 for that family of 4)? Would you have written that check? In the past wars have always been kept in balance by a limited money supply. Now the banks just xerox that shit.
Someday soon it's all going to come due. Can you imagine going to the bank and having them say:
"sorry, we don't actually have any money, the vault is empty."
"whaaaaat??? But I put my money in there, how can you not have it?"
"Oh, we lent it (plus 90% more) and it never got paid back, so you're shit out of luck and your money is gone, ya burnt!"
But surly the FDIC will save me? Nope, not in a major crisis, they just don't have the money. "But they're backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government" you say. AAA rating you say... Just like the mortgages in 2008... AAA rating. And the FDIC explicitly doesn't insure your retirement fund, which for most, is the bulk of their savings. Think it can't happen? Ask someone in Greece or Argentina.
Lower interest rates? print more money? The Fed will save us! The federal interest rate is %0.5, they're already scraping bottom. Printing more money would skyrocket inflation. Thieves would be stealing the wheelbarrow and leaving the cash. Ever see a 100 trillion dollar bill, Zimbabwe's got one. There's nothing else the Fed can do to save the next bubble burst.
and here comes some more stuff
1200 people went to jail for "occupying" Wall Street. Now, you might be thinking, to be fair, there were far fewer bankers than the "occupants", so of course less of them went to jail. You'd be very right, the number is exactly ZERO, not a single fucking one. If you're some burnout with a sack of cannabis, you get 6 months in jail. Scam the American people out of TRILLIONS, you get a good talking to. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. These are that same people that now have your $12,300.
How could the people running the government not send any of these bankers to jail? How could the owners of the media and news organizations not publicly shame them? This part takes a rocket scientist to figure out, so I'll just leave it here... nope, I can't do it. They're the SAME PEOPLE, you get that, right? It's turtles all the way down.
So we called them poo-poo heads, gave them $4 trillion and said "whatever you do, don't do that again. We wouldn't want to give you another $4 trillion". They now know they're invincible and can take even greater risks than they did before. We've rewarded their bad behavior, and it's only going to get worse.
This isn't even the crazy conspiracy stuff! This is just the kinda crazy stuff, and only kinda crazy cause it's actually happening.
Maybe I need to up my meds. I can hear the black helicopters coming for me.
