Banska Bystrica is a lovely small town. Banska means mine. It was a copper mining town in the late middle age. 10 mins walk from Banska Bystrica mesto train station and 20 mins walk from Banska Bystrica main train station.
The little town comprises a main square and most of the monuments/sightseeing points can be visited on foot in 30 mins time.
