The road to the 6th! (Part II) (History of all FC Barcelona Champions League wins)

The UEFA Champions League final is just a few months away, so let us remind ourselves for the second League title that the Catalans won in the new era of the team.

Barcelona faced Arsène Wenger's Arsenal who eliminated Real Madrid, Juventus and Villarreal in the knockout stage after winning their group against Ajax, Thun and Sparta Prague. After they failed to win other trophies in the 2005-06 season, the Gunners were determined to win the League cup.

But there came FC Barcelona who won the La Liga and the Spanish Supercup that season with the big help of the now retired football genius Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o who scored 34 goals in all competitions. The succeeded to reach the final after winning a group against Werder Bremen, Udinese and Panathinaikos. In the knockout stage, they reached the final after difficult wins against Chelsea, Benfica and Milan.

And then came the very anticipated final. The Catalans went to win with Ludovic Giuly, Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o in the attacking force. Arsenal depended on Fredrik Ljungberg and Thierry Henry to score the winning goals.

However, the game started with a stunning moment, after Arsenal keeper Jens Lehman was sent off for a foul against Eto'o and Robert Pires was substituted for Spanish goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.

In a surprise turn of events, after a cross from Henry, Sol Campbell scored a header that gave motivation to the Gunners that even with 10 men they can win the trophy. Then came the second half where Barcelona struggled to even the score.

Frank Rijkaard gave Juliano Belletti a chance to make a difference and after a goal from Eto'o to even the score, the former Brazilian international scored the dream goal which made Barcelona fans go into frenzy. Later, Samuel Eto'o won the Man of the Match trophy.
