Telecom Satellite TV (TSTV) has partnered with
a Europe-based television station, ABS Global,
to launch into the Nigerian Broadcasting
Service a Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite TV.
The newly launched pay TV satellite would
cover all sub-Saharan African countries and
would provide otsvs-tv-sub.jpgver 100 TV channels to their
audience.Managing Director of TSTV, Bright
Echefu during the signing of the multi-
transponder agreement with their ABS partner
disclosed that their services would offer viewers
the experience of HD and SD video, internet
services, broadband, TV and radio at a very
affordable rate.
He said TSTV would be distributed on ABS-3A
satellite located at the prime video
neighborhood of 3°W and the antenna would be
straight to the sky such that there would be no
interference.
According to him, “what makes the project
unique is that it would start with 100 channels
of local, regional and international in Yoruba,
Igbo Hausa, Ghanaian,, Sierra Leonean,
Liberian Languages among others. It would
also provide news, entertainment, education
content”.
Also, Managing Director Africa, ABS Global
Flavien Bachabi noted that ABS global was
providing the space capacity and technical
support that would make the TV work adding
that the addition of the Nigeria DTH platform
from TSTV would undoubtedly strengthen ABS
presence in ABS Africa.
He mentioned that TSTV has the right content
and premium product to satisfy the growing
demand of Nigeria adding that it would assist
ABS take Nollywood to great height “We have
found out that Nigerians have passion for sport
and entertainment industry and we want to be
part of the success story”.
