So now that the pubs are open I've been going out fairly regularly and the other night I had to go into this place because we got a giggle out of their sign.
This place has not been open since 1890. They haven't even been open since 1980. There were no buildings on this plot of land in 1890 and there was probably very few of them even 20 years ago. This bar opened less than a year ago and we figured we'd give it a try yesterday.
Problems with this sign
- New York is obviously not 0 km from here, it actually might be located almost exactly on the other side of the planet
- Not only did they not have any "Texas Wine" - if that is even a thing, they didn't have any wine at all
- "Best beers" must mean Huda or Larue because those were the only beers they had in stock
- They didn't even know what an Alabama cocktail is, let along have any of them
- There was no live music and this is a good thing. Apparently they never do have live music either
So suffice to say we did not stay here very long, just the 1 beer that wasn't even very cold. In fact, we had to shout up the stairs when we walked in just to get someone to serve us then we had to do the same thing again when we were leaving in order to pay.
I feel bad for businesses like this because they are absolutely clueless on how to run a business. I hope they do well with the Vietnamese crowd because there is no chance the expat community it going to hang out here.
