Barsapara Cricket Stadium, inaugurated on 10 October 2017, is ready to host it's first International game of cricket on 11 October 2017 between Australia and India .It is the second T20 match of the ongoing Paytm series that is to be played at this venue. People of Assam and from the entire North-eastern region are very excited about the game.
The foundation stone of the Barsapara Cricket Stadium was laid by the then Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in June 2004. The 60,000 capacity stadium is one of the finest in the country having all the modern facilities. The main field covering approximately 16800 sq. m, which is first of its kind in the entire country. The entire stadium project is completed at a cost of over Rs 100 crore.
