Basal thumb and wrist arthroscopic surgery

I have had many surgeries and figured this would be a walk in the park....I WAS WRONG!!! Out of all the surgeries this has been the most painful. I did, however, have ALOT of damage in the area but YOWZERS!!! I am 2 days post op and all of my finger joints are swelled and bruised and have EXTREME pain all the way up to my bicep. I HOPE that it will be worth it after all this. I have lived with the basal pain for about 4 years and tried everything but this was my last effort. Im grateful for the opportunity to get it fixed but this pain is excruciating. Has anyone else had this done and if so do you have any advice?
