This was one of my first steemit posts and I have realised that I have not even put in any content to go with this post, so I thought I would add some here as steemit won't allow me to edit the post:
This jump was around January time, feckin' freezing, hence the North Face puffer jacket. I wasn't wearing gloves as the climb up the pylon is in my opinion, more dangerous than the BASE jump its self.
I didn't want to slip using gloves, so I preferred to have cold hands. The climb is up an' outside ladder', meaning that if you slip and fall, thats it, game over, you die.
Inside ladders have outside protection so if you slip you can actually grab hold of something, or you body will get trapped so you can try and rectify the situation.
This jump was one to tick off the list, I don't feel any urge to jump it again as the risk out weighs the reward for me. This object does get jumped a lot, and I mean A LOT due to where it is and its access.
You have live conductors above your head when you jump, so this is something to watch out for as you don't want to get electricuted as you jump. Its clear they are there when your up there, as they are very close and they make a very loud crackling/buzzing sound.
The canopy ride from the top is around 10 - 11 seconds if you jump from the highest part, as you can jump lower and static line yourself, which I did see other jumpers doing. I believe I exited from 250ft (76m). I should know exactly, but I did at the time, which is what matters.
