MLB and Lucid sight (a dapp/game developer) have partnered up to start putting collectible digital baseball items on a blockchain. These look to be ERC-721 style collectibles for the most part, or maybe even entirely, but they also will be capturing "moments" in baseball which is an interesting idea.
These are "digital baseball cards", but with a built in digital marketplace to easily trade the cards on (which during the baseball card collecting era would have been incredible.) I'm sure there is a lot more involved on a marketing level, one can only imagine how this could be used to drive fans back to stadiums to watch games. But a large message regarding the partnership is that MLB commissioner Manfred is extremely open to helping keep today's youth interested in baseball, and that's great.
