Basi was a female giant panda.She was the world's oldest in captivity.She died at the age of 37 years.She was rescued at the age of 4 after falling into an icy river.She spend most of her life in South-East China at a panda centre. She was trained to do sports like weighlifting. She was also the inspiration for 1990 Asian Games mascot Panpan. She died on September 13, 2017 .
