Humanity will Sabotage Basic Income

Basic Income:

we can't do it.

The ideals set forth in Star Trek for what a post-scarcity society is lay out a very utopian view that isn't going to work simply due to current human corruptibility. So, we implement basic income ... that's absolutely great, except it'll definitely come with caveats that are a bit too harsh. For instance ... no investing allowed, because you need to be spending your basic income for it to work. And that money is going to ... people who have already invested. That's a worst-case thing, really. But the thing is that money is relative. Your ten dollars is only what it is because the guy next to you has only one dollar. You have ten times his arbitrary value. If you both have ten dollars, one or the other of you is likely to feel like you need the other one's money just to feel like you're more of a success. And then we end up where we are now anyway.

So no, basic income isn't quite enough. We also need basic housing, a thing we can definitely do. Beyond that, we don't have to subsidize wasted corn crops, and can grow actual foods and eat them. But ... no. I tend to believe that the Bible's prophesies are accurate, because they have been so far. And there, we try utopian ideas ... they don't work because we're awful. Even when we try to be good we're just doing it for social status and praise. We're just awful little fucks.

Let's say we invent the infinite energy sources, the matter replicators. Let's say we do ... we can bet and win, on the insistence that the inventor will use it simply for increased production and profit in a factory setting. And nothing more ... and he can keep it, too. We don't have much, if any, future. We aren't going to hit a type 1 civilization. 0.8 is as far as we'll ever go.

Sorry for the downer. But, this is what I fear is true.

I believe in Bible prophesy, as well. Our eyes are awakened to the promise. The world is a mess, but His kingdom is just fine. I am much older and so see with a whole different set of eyes. Heck, I watched Star Trek when it was the only show on the only channel. Time passes but His promise to both of us is the same. Love God first and love each other. Take another gal over to Ranier another day. Have faith. Blessings follow.

I'll assume this was intended as a response to this post. That or you have some serious intuition.

Oh, I may seem a little young for my exhaustion ... I totally agree with you on God and his promise, and I view the inevitable death as the most merciful and loving thing I could imagine. That said ... no. I'm not going to be reaching out to a person again. And I wouldn't mind if it was a guy, either. I'm not looking for a mate, just for compassionate company and some kind of companionship. At this point I'd be alright with an AI if it was complex enough and unprogrammed and unsupervised so it can become a real friend, if created differently. The Angels and Demons have no souls either ... does that make them less deserving of friendship and compassion and love? I would hang on the cross myself if I thought it would get Satan forgiveness ... but I believe that comes in the end as well.

I do not wish to focus my love on one person. I do not wish to own somebody or keep them after they've married. I don't expect a lot and I'm not really asking a lot. But, that's my curse. I love you all, and therefor none can ever be special. And nobody wants to be just another somebody ... but I mean it. I mean fully that for absolutely any one, man or angel or demon or anyone ... I would give anything to make it a little better, a little consolation. A little solace.

I won't be asking another out, again. I won't be lifting my eyes to meet others when I find myself not isolated, again. I won't be trying, again. Not... in this life. Not in this world. It's a world I'm rejecting, if still talking about. Tossing thoughts to the void I guess but I really can't talk like this or so much to any supposed caring friend ... they simply aren't real. Friendship comes one hour at a time or less.

Yes. I did read two posts and respond to both here. My apologies if that was confusing in my reply. You’re an excellent writer. I wish you the best. Blessings

I always new the way forward.

And there's nothing wrong with that. And I think we even should. I just think it's an inevitable failure -- but hey, so is what we're doing now right?

Right now, there is no we. So i do agree, its a sad reality for most

Reading "there is no we" is... chilling.

No, i mean that i got to find the right people to connect with, but it isn't happening for me. Right now in this moment, its hard to find reliable people that want to be a part of rewriting the bad systems that are in place. Everyone got their own agenda. Even you, you believe that it is impossible to get somewhere in life just because your resources is minimal and by not giving people a chance because you think that everyone can be corrupted. its not just you, people judge you by how much material wealth they show. And at the end of the day they only living to impress women and friends.
Once people show true purpose, i can connect with them. Its to hard to change the system and nobody backs you up.
