On February 19th, I flew to New York to sit down and talk in person with co-founder of Facebook and co-chair of the Economic Security Project, Chris Hughes, as part of the launch day of his new book, Fair Shot, where he describes his childhood, how he came to be one of the founders of Facebook who then went on to help get Obama elected, how three major forces were ultimately behind what made it possible for him to earn half a billion dollars in three years (hint: rapid advances in technology, globalization, and the rise of finance), the evidence behind cash being the best and most efficient solution to alleviating poverty and empowering people to make their own choices, and his new proposal to provide every worker earning less than $50,000 per year, an extra $500 per month of guaranteed income paid for by those like himself earning more than a quarter million dollars per year, in order to help combat our level of extreme inequality we haven't seen since just prior to the Great Depression.
If the American dream is ever to be truly realizable for every American, then we all deserve a fair shot, don't we?
Chris hughes is one of the very active and supporters including the successful people, I'm amazed by the way he is and that's a hard thing done by everyone.
I was surprised by his income. This is amazing.
thanks @scottsantens for this information
