So you heard about Bitcoin and now looking to make some side money investing into cryptocurrency?

To start, you will need a place to store your currency.
WALLETS
So many wallets, we all agree it can be frustrating. But at this moment in time, it is necessary if you want to be involved in cryptocurrency. You will need to be able to store and transfer a variety of currencies, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Waves, Dogecoin, Byteball and many more if you want to get involved in as many opportunities as possible.
For Ethereum, ERC20, ERC223 and any ETH based tokens:

Make sure to store your private key somewhere safe. NOT in your email that you used to register with! Write it down and put it in a safe. Make sure you download the .JSON file and store it somewhere safe. You will need the address and private key to access your money in the wallet! .JSON file is a backup and will be needed at a later time.
For Bitcoin you have a LOT more options.

You can also store Litecoin and Ethereum there, but you CANNOT store any ERC20 tokens there! I personally only use it to transfer funds to my paypal account and nothing else.
If you would like to store your Bitcoin in a specific Bitcoin wallet, you can use https://blockchain.info/wallet/#/signup. But you will need to follow the same directions for this as with the MEW wallet, as you NEED to have those private keys!

Litecoin:

Dogecoin:

The other Dogecoin wallet I suggest is https://coinpot.co/. You will be using this later once you get your wallets setup and start learning about Faucets and Airdrops – which are amazing chances at getting FREE money everyday. Coinpot also allows you to store Bitcoin and Litecoin, but the withdraw fees are much higher than that of Coinbase so I suggest only using it for faucet drips.
Byteball:

There are tens of thousands, if not more, wallets out there. But these will cover 99% of all the needs you will have going forward. Some tokens have specific wallets, like Byteball, but they are mostly worthless at this point. So no need for FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out.
Now you have your wallets ready, its time to start trading!
EXCHANGE
Exchanges are where you can buy, sell and exchange one currency for another. You cannot receive tokens from airdrops, faucets or ERC20 tokens to your exchange address. You cannot invest into a new ICO from your exchange. Do not use them as a storage wallet! Only keep funds in the exchange that you are wanting to sell or trade.

Waves:
For Waves and waves based tokens, you will be using the Waves DEX most of the time. You can access the Waves DEX(Decentralized Exchange) directly from the Waves client(the wallet you downloaded earlier).
For ERC20 and other ETH based tokens, there are a few options. Some of them are the ONLY place to trade specific tokens, so you are forced to use them if you are trying to make a profit.
