A sensational exchange has become a fact ! San Antonio Spurs gave Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to Toronto in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a pick from the first draft round.
Spurs finally found a willing person for Kawhi Leonard, and the Raptors decided to try a different look at their future.
In the final version of the deal, Kawhi Leonard and shooter Danny Green leave San Antonio. The team leader DeMar DeRozan and the Austrian substitute center Jokob Poeltl are saying goodbye to the Raptors. The Toronto team adds a reserved (1-20) pick in the first draft round of 2019.
Everyone is waiting for the reactions of the interested people now. Kawhi did not hide that he did not want to play in Toronto. DeRozan did not want to leave Canada and the club he was associated with.
Raptors risk Leonard to leave after the first year of the game, but want to try to repeat the scenario from Oklahoma, where Paul George was persuaded to stay after the first season. The question about his health remains open.
