Marc Gasol became the SIXTH player in NBA history to win an NBA championship and gold medal in the same year. He joins the list of the following notable NBA players who achieved the same feat: Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Lamar Odom, Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan. In June 13, 2019 Marc Gasol captured his first NBA championship when his team the Toronto Raptors routed the Golden State Warriors in six games winning 4-2 and yesterday, September 15, 2019 he won the Gold Medal for FIBA World Cup in China while representing his country Spain, this is also his country’s second World Cup title. I'm so happy for this guy and he also joins his older brother Pau Gasol, which is also an NBA Champion. As he sat back at home to watch and cheer his brother win an NBA Championship with the Los Angeles Lakers two times, he was able to do so with the Raptors and the difference now is that he won the gold medal for his country too in a World Cup, world stage! Congratulations to Marc. 2019 has been a great and memorable year for Marc. Wishing him all the best and no more injuries as he is nearing his retirement, which is noticeable in his speed.
