EuroBasket Women qualifiers 2019: Greece maintain unbeaten start; Spain, France still comfortable

Great Britain were involved in another classic battle in the latest round of Eurobasket Women 2019 qualifiers but this time, they fell short.

After an exciting overtime win over Israel on Saturday, GB nearly overturned a ten-point deficit in the fourth but Greece held on for a 61-59 win.

Eleanna Christinaki had a game-high 18 points for Greece who top Group D on 2-0. Britain fall to 1-1.

Russia had a narrow escape in Group C but they overcame Lithuania 64-62 as Elena Beglova hit the winning free throw with a second left for the win.

Zhosselina Maiga had 13 points to lead the unbeaten Russians and leave Lithuania winless.

Spain were ruthless as they recorded a 92-26 win over the Netherlands and France made light work of Romania 87-45.

Group E: Slovenia 97-57 Finland; France 87-45 Romania
Group F: Ukraine 95-44 Bulgaria; Spain 92-26 Netherlands
Group H: Sweden 91-56 FYR of Macedonia; Italy-Croatia
