4 Tiling Alternatives that Look Great in Any Bathroom

Are you remodeling your bathroom – but don’t want to install tiles? That’s understandable. Tiles are an old style for bathroom walls and floors. And they’re not appealing to many… Especially with all the amazing aesthetic options on the market. If you’re looking for alternatives to bathroom tiles, then no worries. Below, we’ll list you some options you can explore for your new renovation project. Study each one carefully before committing to a choice!

(1) Concrete.

Concrete is one of the best options you can explore. It’s an easy alternative to tiles, and it’s one you can apply with ease. We highly recommend this type of flooring to you. Concrete floors come with a mono-color advantage. Most concrete floor look like a large sea of just 1 single color. It could be dark brown, green, black, you name it. This might be something that’s appealing to you. And it’s definitely a break from many tile designs - which incorporate symmetrical shapes across all tile copies.   Some Things to Consider. You can’t turn your wall into concrete. That’s a very hard thing to do. So you might get a concrete floor. But you’ll need a different design option for your bathroom walls. Also, renovating concrete floors requires an expert. Renovations projects include spilling acid on the floor, and then laying out a new layer of concrete. That is not something you can do alone. Finally, concrete tiles are slippery. In a bathroom environment, this can be a bit dangerous. Moisture and water can make concrete tiles extra slippery. And the situation is made worse if you have children around. There are fixes to this problem though.

(2) Rubber Leather Flooring.

It’s similar to concrete in its mono-colored features. But it has the extra advantage of added friction… In other words, you’ll suffer less from slipping problems. And so it’s less of a hazard for places that use water. Rubber leather flooring is easy to install. You can do it yourself, provided you have that experience – and a little help. You also don’t have to worry about moisture and humidity. Rubber leather does not rust. Nor does it absorb and deform from water (like wood). So it’s definitely a convenient alternative to tile installations.   1 Problem. They’re not exactly good for walls.   That’s a problem rubber floors share with concrete. Rubber leather doesn’t go on walls. It goes on floors only. So you still need decorative options for walls. For that, we recommend…

(3) Ceramilite Tiles.

Similar to traditional ceramic tiles, but only in their cuts. With ceramilite, you get a classic looks for you walls. And it doesn’t have to glimmer due to coating finishes. Ceramilite tiles are easy to install. You don’t need trowels and cement like normal tiles. You can get a professional to simply install them as tile panels, instead of 1 tile at a time. Or you can do it yourself – if you have that experience.  But assuming you want wall panels without them being tiles – you can go a different route.

(4) Non-Tiled Interior Wall Panels.

Ceramilite tiles can be installed as wall panels. But you can also get wall panels that look like glorified wallpaper. This is a style many people prefer. It combines the design features of rubber and concrete floors. And it adds in the easy installation of ceramilite tiles! Also, you can get interior wall panels with beautiful designs on them. You can get a nice touch of embroidery on your panels. Or, you can settle for a single colored look on your walls.   Mix and Match as You Wish. You can get wall panels for normal walls. You can then add shower wall panels to complement those walls. And your shower wall panels will last you long. They also have the durability that normal wall panels have to water. Even the strong force of water is not enough to land scratches on average panels. So you get beautiful colors and durability at the same time.

It’s Time to Start Shopping.

And we wish you luck with that. The design options for each tile alternative are endless. And you probably need the recommendation of a friend help you with the job. But if you can’t find any, then go online and start researching! Search for tile panel sellers near your area. Look for services that sell the bathroom wall panels you need.  And get a good aesthetician to help you judge excellent from bad design combinations!
