Submitter: @krusper
Loser(s): @yazp

Hand Breakdown:

In the @followbtcnews 5 SBD Freeroll, RTB begins the fun on this hand with a massive pre-flop raise of 1350 with A7 suited. @yazp smooth calls. After a seven-high flop, @yazp moves all-in. With top pair on the board, @run-the-bits calls quickly and is a massive underdog. After the eight on the turn, RTB has just an 11.36% chance of winning the hand, which turns into 100% when one of the last two sevens hits the board. @yazp still has a nice stack left, but it’s a brutal beat.

Voting Begins Sunday

Is this the Bad Beat of The Week? If you think so, vote on Sunday for “Candidate #7.”

Bad Beat of The Week

The Bad Beat of The Week awards a 2 SBD prize for the loser of the hand AND 1 SBD for the person who first submits the winning screenshot and information about the hand (simply how it played out) to @Michaelluchies on Discord. If multiple people lost in the bad beat hand, the winner of the prize will be the player who started with the best hand pre-flop.
BBOTW candidates will be published during the week. The winner will be determined by a final vote (votes * payout) each Sunday, ending at 5 PM Central during the 50 SBD tournament.

How Can I Win?

Just play and be on the lookout for bad beats. The BBOTW can happen in cash games (ring games) or in tournaments. The higher the stakes, the more consideration a beat will get.

Other Rules

Maximum payout to one player for a BBOTD is 2 SBD, meaning you cannot win for both submitting and being the recipient of the BBOTD. You can submit the bad beat, you would just win for being the loser of the hand.
Each “week” will run from Sunday 5 PM Central to Sunday 5 PM Central, and the winner will be announced that night. Be on the lookout for these posts each week and the final vote posts on Sunday mornings.

I haven't joined SPL yet, but that isn't a bad beat. I've played a lot of poker in my day, and he was 18% to win at least half the pot. He has 5 outs to win and 4 chop outs(hitting a 5 puts a straight on the board). I consider a bad beat a 1-2 outer on the river, boat over boat, quads over nut boat, nut flush over second nut flush on a non paired board, straight flush over nut flush. I think hitting a 7 there is pretty standard in poker, but that's just me!

Wohoo, my submission :)

that hand was painful!!!

When did this take place? Final table pain always hurts more and to me is a worse bad beat because you are so damn close to victory

Pretty sure it was final table because I think I was first one out here.
