Battles are always nerve-wrecking.
I can never get over it.
The best I can do is to simply hype myself up and tell myself, "I am the motherfucking best. I am here to show others I am Bboy Alden, NOT the best Bboy."
Because identity is all there is to Bboying, to me at least.
Sure, it's a battle. Compete all you like and try your best to better your opponent.
But remember the roots, the love and passion for the dance.
Which is to create your identity.
I am pretty proud of this run I did. I joined the battle with three other kids. It was fun! I was glad to be able to have the opportunity to join and also help them some.
