User experience improvements

This month we were preparing the release of Catalogs - the next major feature of BCShop.io. During this preparations some pages and controls were significantly improved. So significantly that it would be useful to underline all the improvements here, in one place. Let’s begin.

Catalog

First of all, the Catalog button in the header now is much easier to notice, just like Dashboard button.

Catalog’s side filter area received lots of upgraders. Let’s have a closer look on it.

First of all, a smart ‘Show’ button now appears whenever you change filter - for example, tick the category, adjust price or select escrow-only option. It also contains the number of offers to be shown if you decide to apply selected filters, so you always know if a combination of filters results in empty set.
Please note that min/max borders of price filter reflect real prices of offers shown. For example if resulting set doesn’t contain offers with price greater than, say 5 ETH, the max price in the filter will be limited to 5 ETH as well.

Already known ‘Gear’ button was added to the catalog offers list.

As you might have noticed on the previous picture, we also added USD price column to the catalog offers list. Using the ‘Gear’ button you can choose whether you wish to see USD price or ETH price, or both.

It is not a secret that for now BCShop.io is young and not quite famous project. So some of categories might not contain offers. That is sad but true. But for this case we prepared a special page encouraging merchants to apply for this empty category.

Merchants Approval Process

There is a small change in the process of applying to the approval merchant’s list. From now on you won’t be able to select a subcategory in your application, but only a whole parent category. We feel that it is more intuitive and easy to select a broader category for your future offers. Still you can type your own category if you feel the current list does not contain the one you need.

Minor improvements

We added merchant’s sales statistics to the merchant’s page. You can find it in a side panel along with merchant’s contacts. It should help quickly evaluate if you want to use someone’s services.

Speaking about merchant’s reliability we also want to mention another minor improvement. Details of this rating were added right to the catalog offers list’s corresponding column.
