These exotic lights are produced by some microscopic phytoplankton called phytoplankton, which is spread off the shore and on its sands. These plankton appear in the day in red and brown, but when dark it appears in bright blue. The researchers show that the purpose of the light emitted by these plankton is actually a defense mechanism to frighten predators. These plankton when they move over the water frighten their enemies.
