in beatbattle •  7 years ago

What an incredible journey this has been for the League. We are in our 15th week as an epic, dynamic community and I want to personally thank all the incredible producers, judges, and listeners you have made this first Season of the #beatbattle an incredible experience.

We have three weeks left in Season One to see how your favorite Steemit producers from all over the world finish in the League.

Good luck everyone this has been an incredible experience and I thank you all again.

We had five (5) epic incredible entries last week and the judging panel of: @chiefmappster, @danyelk, @instrumentals, @derekmiller, and @andrewlyte are looking forward to your art this Week #15 of the #beatbattle. Thank you again for all the time, effort, and resources you put into creating your art.

Here is a playlist of the five epic entries for your listening pleasure:

Without further adieu Week #15's theme is:

Comic Books

get-into-comic-books.jpg

Those classic comic books are treasured by many so let's see if we can pay homage to them with some epic comic book-inspired beats.

You could sample some class comic book shows or movies

Or create some epic comic book fighting music for example.

Whatever resonates with you and this theme let's hear and see it.

Here is some more inspiration:

Remember the entries for the Beat Battle League are judged on:

  • Sound Quality: does the beat sound crispy, in speakers and headphones, is there cracking or recording errors? How loud can we play it before you notice quality issues? etc

  • Technicality: what are the skills you displayed in making this beat? The technical aspects of the your craft. The layers and sounds do they match? How many? etc

  • Creativity: how unique your entry is. How well it revolves around the universal theme? Holy smokes we have never heard that sound before? A creative video and/or artwork o yeahhhhh.

Also, sharing the story about the creation of your art in your Steemit post helps the judging panel and community gain perspective and knowledge on yourself and the message you are sharing.

The prize pool is as follows:

FIRST PLACE WINNER: 67 SMOKE+ 18 STEEM for a total of 85 Points

SECOND PLACE WINNER: 51 SMOKE + 9 STEEM for a total of 60 Points

THIRD PLACE WINNER: 41 SMOKE + 6 STEEM for a total of 47 Points

FOURTH PLACE WINNER: 31 SMOKE + 4 STEEM for a total of 35 Points

CROWD FAVORITE: 21 SMOKE + 3 STEEM for a total of 24 Points

The crowd favorite can be awarded to any Steemian with any entry this week. So the first place winner could win additional rewards or it could be another Steemian. All depends on you the Steemit community :)

Thank you again for all you do and we appreciate the opportunity to enjoy your music each week.

Shoutout to @chiefmappster for coming with dope themes every week! Your dedication to the community is inspiring.

FlashGordon.jpg

First published in 1934, Flash Gordon is the protagonist of a science-fiction space adventure comic created by Alex Raymond.

It's regarded as one of the most influential American adventure comic, as well as, one of the best illustrated comic strips. Superman creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and Batman creators, Bob Kane and Bill Finger, based their respective superheroes' costume design from Flash Gordon's outfit.

In 1980, Flash Gordon was adapted into a film directed by Mike Hodges and starring Sam J. Jones as Flash Gordon. British rock band Queen composed and performed the soundtrack to that film.

"Flash's Theme" by Queen is the theme song of the film, which I chose to sample for Beat Battle League Week #15 (sponsored by @chiefmappster) since the theme is Comic Books. Enjoy!

[In 1970, George Lucas attempted to make the Flash Gordon film, however, he was unsuccessful at acquiring the rights, so instead, he created Star Wars.]

Appreciate the acknowledgement buddy.

This is such an epic take on the theme. Can't wait to dig into this one.

Thanks again for all you do for the community

I hate to be that guy again but...
when's the deadline?^^

At payout of this post? ;)

Hahaaha love itttttttt :)

But usually evaluate how many entries we have about six days out and then if need be extend it a few days.

What you said would be great buddy. Can't wait to hear what you create o weeee

<3
thanks chief

Oh boy... I was never into comics that much, more into cartoons.
Question is: what does qualify?

Say I were to take the theme of a cartoon that had also been available as comic before, would that qualify?

Or should I use this week to advance my other music projects instead?^^

O heck yeah that qualifies buddy.

I might have an idea then, we shall see ;)

O weeeeeeeeeeeeeee :))

A thumbs up!

Appreciate you
