Did Paul McCartney really die back in 1966?

I had a dim idea there were some rumours about Paul´s death, and I knew the "those freaks was right when they said you was dead" lyrics by John. Partly subconsciously I might have wondered about Paul being a bit taller and bigger in the later Beatles years, but it was just the time they went from black and white to colour, right? And I had never rationalized: 1) If there were some articles about Paul McCartney´s death, they might have been true, it would have been exactly the same case as x 2) ergo If Paul has died and Paul is playing and singing on, the latter must be a double 3) ergo I must compare the pre-rumour and post-rumour Pauls, in order to be a true detective, (and then be able to laugh at my stupid fellowmen - and get laughed out by them, but not by myself, who knows better...) This train of thought had really never occured to me, as I am not that kind of malicious thinking machine, and neither I am a female fan of the Beatles, in which case I probably would have studied their physiques in a much more meticulous detail (especially that of Paul)...

Now, I´ve been into conspiracy theories for a while, and I have done a few 180° turns of my mindset (or 150°, 120° or 90° whatever) in my life, and I have been asking all that time: "Is there some other issue I am being fooled about?" But I am always so reluctant to delve into another albeit promising story. It´s such a strange feeling to finally pluck up one´s courage: "Let me look for another conspiracy theory!" I am planning to check out the Moon landing in two years, no, in four years, but until then I will continue to laugh at all those "freaks," possibly some of you. For I know there were some water bubbles escaping from Chinese astronauts´space suits, but the Americans did land on the Moon, were only scared off by the extraterrestrials never to return (and they also bombed the surface causing a mighty ringing sound, as the Moon is hollow, according to several independent sources).

But let´s go back to Paul. There are some inconsistencies in this case as well, some people claiming the date of the car crash to be November 9, while others bet on September 11 (in Britain they drive on the left, you see). But what about the Ringo Starr interview, and the Wired magazine forencis science article, which supposedly appeared on the same day, as Paul McCartney, or Bill Shepherd, whichever you like, lit up David Letterman show.

Somebody clever has said: "The more the matter is important, the more evidence it needs to be proven."

But for some deniers (and I am maybe one of them on a number of occasions) this gets into:

"If the matter is important enough, it can´t be proven at all!"

Here you have it. Well, I am not sure how much this Paul-is-dead stuff is important, and I will like the songs by the Beatles anyway.
