I realized how colorful foxes are plus they have a beautiful tail but they do not bark. They are just good for hunting food for themselves but unlike dogs they just have a weird-sounding shriek which is not good enough to be an alerting sound if they would be used for a guard to the house.
Maybe that is the reason why they are not domesticated by humans because they have no use for humans and they just see them as pests for their stocks of sheep, goat, chickens, or cattle. Now there are only a few of them because of their stigma to many people especially livestock owners and farmers.
But if you will give me one I will decline to accept it simply because of the above reasons, not because they are pests but they are really not like dogs that can bark. Here in my village almost all homes have dogs and they serve a very important purpose which is to guard homes and be an early warning system for home owners.
Most guard dogs are taken cared by their owners so they could function accordingly. But those that are in the streets are often neglected and doesn't serve any purpose but to make the street dangerous as some of those street dogs are vicious at times and chase people while others just litters the streets.
