Yes, I heard it depletes the oxygen from the water which may a problem for the life under the water.

Yes you are right @ace108, too much water hyacinth like that will obviously reduce the amount of oxygen for under the water life, If not soon overcome this can cause evapotranspiration which means the amount of water loss will increase due to its growth so fast and has wide leaves.
