Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday - Walking the Streets of Bangkok !!

in beautifulsunday •  5 years ago

Bangkok is always a interesting city to walk around and every time i am in Bangkok city i try to make it a mission to walk different areas and mainly in the back streets local suburban areas is where you will find the most interesting parts of Bangkok.

My mission on this walk was to try and find some nice graffiti on some abandon houses and always look for abandon cars , motorbikes or any sought of vehicle. After been walking for a little over a hour my first find was this amazing graffiti art on this abandon house wall which in itself tells a old time culture story about Thailand's way of transportation in the older days.

Very well detailed i thought in the way it was expressing the the economy was moving forward.

After admiring this great piece of graffiti art work i moved on after walking a few blocks down in a car park i see this old white abandon Tuk Tuk but this was no ordinary looking Tuk Tuk.

For me it was my first time seeing a Tuk Tuk like this it resembled a sealed refrigerator Tuk Tuk transporting cold goods in it's time possibly seafood or maybe ice cream i thought it was a pretty neat invention was a shame to see it abandon.

And then as i turn around behind me which i almost missed because of the amount of rubbish piled up around it was another old model Taxi Tuk Tuk.

By the looks of this once a Taxi Tuk Tuk it had been turned into a work Tuk Tuk for some builder or carpenter the way the tool boxes were built into the back of this Tuk Tuk very convenient and cost effective i would say.

What a interesting couple of Tuk Tuk's from there i walked out of the car park down a few more hidden alleys of Bangkok and find this motorbike against this wrought iron fence mingling in with mother nature very artistic.

It is amazing what you find in the back alleys of Bangkok when you least expect it my mission was becoming a success and maybe to become even more interesting and it was walking a few more blocks down i see the old forklift in abandon in a abandon factory which was also been eaten up by mother nature.

Continuing my walk further down was another huge car park which was been occupied by a restaurant and a few smaller shops i notice the back end of a car protruding out hidden behind this big Banyan tree so i had to go and investigate this one.

Well this is a model car i have never seen before and it was a long way from home it was a Austin of England all the way from England this was definitely vintage material.

I had to google this particular car and found that the Austin Cambridge (sold as A40, A50, A55, and A60) is a motor car range produced by the Austin Motor Company, in several generations, from September 1952 through to 1971 as cars and to 1973 as light commercials.

So this Austin A40 is actually...WOW...67 years old and i feel it is maybe not abandon but a investment for someone or waiting to be restored by someone hopefully just in the way it has these cones around it for some protection but i wouldn't be leaving a classic like this in a car park...lol.

So when your ever in the big city of Bangkok take to the local suburban alleys and see how the real locals live there daily lives and see what interesting things you can find it certainly great memories to take home.

What cool find so this walk. I love that art and cool finding the abandoned vehicles

Funny thing is the first car II drove I think was an Austin A40 :)

Love walking the back streets this is where you find all the cool stuff.

Seriously how funny is that they would be worth a packet now i reckon.

Yes indeed, and if you had one on good condition of the Car i do believe it would be worth a good chuck

Wow bet that car is worth some cash!

I would say it would i would be paranoid leaving that in a car park like that :)

Wicked cool tagging! Love street art, good finds man!

Wow! And that doesn't even cover it! I was so taken back by that amazing piece of graffiti art on that abandoned place. As of now, I'm a huge fan of taking the back streets when I am in a city. They always have the most interesting stuff back there, hidden from your eyes. In just a few posts that I have seen where you post in the back streets, I can honestly say that these trump any of the malls or anything that you have posted. Not that the malls are not amazing, but I could probably Google and if I really wanted to and real life usually is in Google Worthy. In saying this, I don't want you to stop, I'm saying the malls are awesome for me but I just wanted to show you how amazing I think this part of Bangkok is.

Someone took a lot of time and energy to do these and I love the story that it tells. They have amazing detail and whoever did these has a real sense of humor. As far as the Tuk Tuk goes. They remind me of a lot of commercial work Vehicles except they have three wheels, not four. I just love them and they make me smile every time I see them tootling down the street. Well, I am sure that it is not a normal beautiful, be refrigerated trucks make a lot of sense when you're talking about transporting seafood or even ice cream. But the one that really caught my eye was the Austin! What a beautiful car and I cannot believe that it is jammed in how he like that. Perhaps it's leftover from an expat or a diplomat. But whatever. It's a gorgeous car. Thank you so much for such a wonderful post.

This is an absolutely such an undervalued post I can't believe it has $0.42 on it!

Upped and steemed

You are absolutely right we can always google shopping malls but going of track i have been enjoying it so much the people you run into and the things you find you will never find on google so i am enjoying the back alleys and i am going to be doing more of that and that Austin i would never leave a car like that hanging in a car park i just might have to go and tow it away...lol...would be worth a fortune :)

Thank you my friend for your kind words and the tip much appreciated have a great week :)

Haha! I am sitting here staring at the awesomeness of your #MarketFriday!
