"SKINCARE - A WORLD SOON TO BE MALE DOMINATED??"

The world of beauty is dominated by women - be it Lipgloss, Eyeliner, Perfume, Mascara, Lipstick, Blusher, Concealer, Foundation or anything else in the woman's section of your everyday department store, women are obsessed with looking good and staying young.

Things are seriously about to change.

2017 marked the first year ever that sales in Men's cosmetics and grooming products matched that of their counterparts.

Forbes magazine ran an article (This is a Man's World) in September showing stats from 8 major retail outlets in the States and Europe with respects to the sale of Cosmetics in the Skincare market. For the first time in recorded history the figures were practically inseparable.

Yes you can argue that Women's products far outweigh that of Men's but the figures suggested that per ratio of sales, there was very little to separate who was going to be on top in the world of skincare in 2018.

I am a 40 year old man with two boys and i know a hell of a lot about Skincare. Why you may ask?

Well two years ago i helped my partner setup a natural skincare company www.buityskincare.com she now also sells products on Etsy, you can take a look here > https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BuitySkincare?section_id=22434028
She makes all her own products and believe me they are awesome, how do i know? Well 95% of the time I'm her guinea pig...

For the interests of our company i have had every kind of skin care product on my face and body.. peelers, masks, scents, roll ons, creams, oils, ointments you name i've tried it and while you may be thinking hmm.. this guys a bit on the feminine side.. trust me don't judge it until you've tried it.

Some of the pampering you experience is out of this world, facial massages, essential oils with untold benefits and smells that bring you back to nature, and at the end of it all you actually feel and look better too.

Now i'm far from vein believe me, i have no hair and a bit of a pop belly and i'm not ashamed to show it off but even so i'm no valentines pinup i have become accustomed to being pampered and looked after and what's best my partner is soooo eager to give me her best treatment. (No complaints here)

So back to the nature of the post.. in today's market, men are focusing on their looks more today than ever before. Mostly due to the celebrity status of those in the limelight and the need/pressures for them to keep up with the jones' and look good.

It's little wonder then that you find the most muscly of sports professionals in the spa, getting a Himalayan salt Jacuzzi, Far Infrared Detox, Fish Pedicure, Gold leaf facial or splashing out a few hundred quid on a nice bottle of aftershave.

Male grooming has now become staple in the world of men who are not only in the spotlight but those generally who wish to take themselves seriously, stay looking fresh and sharp.

I am an entrepreneur in the truest sense. I have had my own Jewellery company, made my own music, written a children's book, worked for over 20 different industries throughout my 40 years and have a very well rounded level of experience and creativity. I'm constantly watching the trends and digging down deep to understand the psychology behind that which influences buyers in a highly competitive market.

Having said that i can safely say women need to watch their heels, men are catching up to you and super fast too.
I really wouldn't be surprised if 2018 is dominated by male grooming shops, boutiques and franchises.

What's actually great about this is that women are fascinated! Yes you heard that right..
They love spending time with men who know their foundation from their mascara.. After all its one of women's favourite topics. So when you as a man decide to get on the wagon and join the growing number of men styling their beards, getting a wax or having a nip and tuck don't be surprised if the interest you receive from women begins to increase.

Women do love sensitive men just as much as they love a protector the key is finding the right balance, too much one way and you tip the scales and over time she'll seek to correct the imbalance. So if you're too much of an alpha-male it might be time to start creaming your legs..
