Our face is in constant contact with dust, dirt and pollution most especially when we are out in the street. Due to this, our pores can be clogged with sweat and dirt causing bacterias which may lead to pimples, whiteheads and blackhead. On top of this, our face may also look dull. Now this where Facial Detox comes in.

What is Facial Detox?

Facial detox is the process of detoxifying and removing of skin's impurities, toxins, pollutants and dead skin cells that may be causing the skin to look dull to renew and revitalize the skin.

I have mentioned before in my previous blog post that my sister-in-law owns a business here in the Philippines which offers services such as eyebrow embroidery, eyelash extensions, etc. You can view the blog post through this link. Fortunately, facial detox is one of the services that they are offering.

Step-by-Step Process of Facial Detox

1. First off, the face will be cleaned using a mild facial cleanser. My sister-in-law uses products from Korea.

2. The face will be steamed for about 8-10 minutes. This will allow pores to open up to allow products to penetrate the skin and be fully absorbed.
   
   *that's my Kuya(older brother) setting up the steam.

3. After steaming, the face is massaged with a special lotion which targets to magnetized all the dirt from the inside of the pores.
   

4. The face is then wiped with a clean towel to remove the dirt that has come out since the pores have been opened up and massaged with a magnetic lotion.
   
   Look at all those dirt! Before the steaming, my brother's face has been cleaned up already but after the pores has been opened, these are all the dirt thas was accumulated from his face. I think that's almost 2 years worth of dirt because the last time he had a facial treatment is almost 2 years ago. 😂
   

5. After cleaning the face, a blackheads and whiteheads remover cream was put on his nose area and then a thin paper-like was placed afterwards all over the area which has a cream on it.
   
   
   Wait for about 10-15 minutes until it's dried before peeling it off.
   

6. Now this is the most exciting part. The peeling off part!
   
   Look at all those blackheads and whiteheads that was removed from his face. Gross right? But it was satisfying to see! 😂

7. After removing the whiteheads and blackheads, his face was cleaned and then a seaweed mask was placed on his face for about 20-30minutes. I've learned that any mask would do, based on your skin's needs and preference.

8. After removing the mask, his face was massaged again to ensure that the product from the mask is fully absorbed then a moisturizing cream was also massaged into his face to close the pores.

Have your facial detox, I'm sure your skin will thank you after this. Our face needs to breathe too ya'know. 😜
