Hello Followers, and Steemers!

This last summer, as a member of the city press for Daegu, I attend a lot of events. One of the events I attended was the beauty expo. The expo offered a platform for those all around the globe, but mostly SE Asia, to come and show different beauty techniques, or show new products, cosmetics, etc. There was also a fashion show. On the day I went it revolved around wedding dresses. There was also a body painting competition. It was quite fun, as I was able to stand right next to the runway;the benefits of a press pass. Was also able to gain access where they were rehearsing etc.

Upon entering, there were a lot of booths, with people ready to show off their product.

There was a TON of fingernail polish. This seems to be a very popular cosmetic.

There was a lot of information regarding new revolutionary techniques, or compounds; making even better cosmetics etc.

Demo-ing the product. I actually ended up buying one of these HAHA!

They had a display of all the dresses that were going to be modeled later in the day.

There were actually, maybe over 100 people, who were practicing and testing their skills. Judges, or technicians, would walk around and check progress. I think a lot of these people were training to receive a certificate, proofing that they were able to utilize certain techniques. There seemed to be people from all over the world, not just people in Korea.

There were a lot of younger adults preparing for the body painting competition. There seemed to be two different categories: body paint, or fantasy makeup. It was interesting to watch them paint their models. They spent several hours preparing and and painting.

There was a break in the day. During this time the models practiced their walking routines. One of them was very talented, and could play the violin really well. A lot of practice actually went into the prep. There were many mistakes, as models had to remember different places they would walk or stand and when, throughout the course of the event. There were definitely moments of frustration.

Some video of the rehearsal.

Collecting some of the free product posters.

Before the runway show, there were some speeches. The lady in the gold dress was from Thailand (I think) but her speech was in English, and she spoke very well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Alright, now photos of the main attraction; the runway show:

It really spectacular. Being right next to the catwalk, you could really feel the presents of the models, especially when they looked right into your camera lens.

After that was over, it was time for the body-paint competition.

The artist did a fantastic job. I couldn't believe it too, when I found out a lot of these artist were still in high school. Lots of talent.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my pictures from this event! Until next time!
