One of our GH team members underwent micro-work last year and decided to share some useful facts with everyone considering this increasingly popular procedure.

"I've always struggled with my eyebrows. They have never had the same shape or length and, as a student, I have completely thrown them out. After years I was tired of filling in them every morning.
One day, I complimented a girlfriend with her perfect eyebrows when she shared her secret with me: micromix. I did not even bother to ask her about the costs, pain levels, and so forth. Her perfect eyebrows were enough to convince me and I immediately asked her beauty therapist's number to make an appointment.
By this time most of you probably already heard of this form of semi-permanent make-up (which involves fine cutting with a lime and then filled with pigment). But I thought it was good to share a few things I wish I asked my girlfriend before the time.
1. It's not hurt, but it's not comfortable either
It's hard to say exactly how sore micro-muscular work is, because people's pain thresholds differ. To me personally, it was less hurtful than a bikini wax, but hurt than to put holes in my ears. I would rather describe it as an awkward or unpleasant feeling than hurt. The therapist will also add an anesthesia that makes the area less sensitive.
2. You can not beat a sweat!
The key to the success of microprocessing lies in the fact that the small sores must shape and completely heal. This can not happen if the jellyfish get wet constantly - whether it's water or sweat. So leave your exercise routine for a week or wear a sweatband if you simply need to get your step. And make sure you do not make the appointment a week before that half marathon!
3. You may initially look like a hornworm
I remember my boyfriend's face when he came up with me after the procedure. He said someone seemed to notice my eyebrows with a marker. It was 1) because the ink on the first day is obviously the darkest (almost like when you make your hair color) and 2) because of the shining ointment that the therapist used after the treatment.
After the weekend my colleagues and friends complimented me with my beautiful eyebrows - which means they noticed that it looks different - but graciously no one had the same expression as my boyfriend! I suggest you open your social calendar for such day or two after the procedure.
4. It's itching - a lot!
As mentioned earlier, micro-mucus involves making fine cuts in your skin and filling the cuts with pigment. The joints will form rofies and the rofies will descend and form reddish. It will happen a few times during the healing process and, as everyone knows, such a process can be a big joke. The fact that you can not snap your eyebrows (to prevent infection and accelerate the recovery process) could possibly drive you out of the walls. Ask your therapist for ointment to relieve the jeukery.
5. You have to go back
A follow-up session is non-negotiable. Microworking is a two-part process and the follow-up visit usually takes four to six weeks after the first session. The reason for this is that as your skin and blemishes heal, the new color is usually dazzled. During the second session the therapist will pass the streaks and, if necessary, change the color and shape. Microworking can be expensive. So remember to ask if the second session is included in the price.
Last but not least
In conclusion, a few more thoughts: Take into account that you have not been able to wash or wash your face for at least a week after the procedure. If you do not usually wear a lot of clothing, it will not affect you much. But my work requires that I at least slightly lighten, so it was a rather unpleasant surprise during my information session before the procedure. Thank heaven for face flaps! I kept watering my eyebrows with adhesive tape and a very large pouring pot when I dumped that first week.
Also remember that microprocessing is semipermanent - it is supposed to last between one to three years, depending on the type of skin, age, how you care for the lesions, and so on. After a year, my eyebrows look good, but I am considering a refurbishment treatment within the next year. And lastly, do your research - not necessarily for the best price, but for the best results. "
