5 easy beauty habits I’m keeping

in beauty •  7 years ago

After a couple of years of experimenting with products, I've really discovered what is working for me and have made a few new and easy beauty habits that are making a big difference.

  1. Wear an SPF. I live in the UK and as you will know we don't have the best weather so SPF is generally saved for holidays or those rare hot and sunny days we get in the Summer. I never thought I needed to wear it all year round. However, you do and your skin will thank you for it.

  2. Wear sunglasses. Yet again something I've not been great at over the years. I do wonder if squinting in the sun has led to some of the fine lines I have around my eye area. I'll never know but vow to take better care and wear sunglasses more often. I now keep a pair in my car permanently so I'm never caught out when driving and am trying to carry a pair in my handbag too.

  3. Pat in eye cream rather than rub. I've always been someone who wants to rub in eye cream rather than pat as supposed to. It's pure laziness but it really doesn't take that much long to pat it in and it's so much better for your delicate under eye skin.

  4. Drink more water. OK so I'm pretty good at this one. I love water and rarely drink anything else at the moment thanks to having a small baby. I do believe it is why my skin is generally clear, that and good genes - thanks Mum!

  5. Create a skincare routine for the skin not on your face! I've always been good at looking after my face but since trying to use up my hoard of products and samples, I've got myself into a good routine of looking after some of the more forgotten areas on our body. I've been applying lip balm to my lips (yes on my face but often an area neglected) and hand cream morning and night. Since doing this I've not had dry, chapped lips or hands and can happily say they are looking better for it. Lip balm also means that when I apply my favourite lipstick it goes on better too as I have hydrated lips. Also massaging in a nice body lotion after my shower is not only relaxing but means the skin on my body is well looked after and any dry patches taken care of (anyone else suffer with their elbows and knees?).
Pretty simple right?

Let me know what your beauty habits are, I'd love to hear.
