Saturday night beauty secrets

in beauty •  7 years ago

Tonight I spend all night just looking after myself, or should I say my face and hair.

I used LONVITALITE collagen crystal eye mask, must say I really liked it. Normally I use the gold collagen eye and lip mask, but this one was really nice for a change, will definitely try them again.

I also applied seaweed face mask by The Body Shop. I've always been a huge fan of The Body Shop, mainly because they are cruelty free and don't test products on animals, and they are affordable and no chemicals. It's more actually oil balancing clay mask, needless to say I looked absolutely fabulous, Miss true Frankestain.

Whilst waiting for my clay mask to proprely set in, I applied coconut oil hair treatment, which is so easy. We all know coconut oil has amazing benefits. Coconut oil is so rich in fatty acids that nourish and moisturize the scalp and hair (perfect for me, I have very dry hair!) it's also perfect for hair breakage reduction. The beauty of coconut oil is that, not only it's perfect as hair treatment, but also as face moisturizer. It really is the bomb! As we all know also the benefits of drinking coconut water, but I might stick to my wine.
Coconut oil has been used also as a natural remedy to combat frizz; get rid of dandruff (not that I have any); remove and prevent lice; and promote hair growth (bloody hope so)

METHOD for the treatment:

  • We all know coconut oil can be hard as butter, so trick is to make sure it's liquid (microvave it, melt in saucepan, find a way), or if you live in Australia, you don't have that problem, coconut oil here is always liquid, unless you live somewhere like Canberra, or Melbourne where you can freeze your tits off during the winter.

  • Massage the oil onto your scalp and throughout your hair. PS: If you have long hair, you will need A LOT of coconut oil, unfortunately my hairdresser fcked up my haircut and took too much off, so now I don't need as much (less cost, see the positive side!) lol, I apply it on dry hair and give it a really nice brush after. Then I have it in for overnight (the first time I thought I was going to wake up with no hair, seems like I got lucky), but your bed will smell like coconut oil for weeks, and if you don't like the smell (like I don't) it's a fucking mess. Move on and deal with it.

  • If you don't want your bedroom, or the entire house to smell like coconut oil, have it in for minimum 30minutes, my reccomendation? Suck it up and have it overnight, or at least for few hours. The longer you leave the coconut oil on, the more it will condition your hair, and my advice ... Condition the crap out of it!

  • Once you wake up in the morning feeling gross as fck, shampoo your hair and repeat if necessary (if you are hopeless like me, you will need to shampoo your hair until the shampoo bottle is empty) to remove the coconut oil completely. Using warm water will help get the oil out of your hair, but then again, who showers in cold water?

  • Melt tiny amount of coconut oil in the palms of your hands by rubbing your hands together, and apply it lightly throughout your hair for extra conditioning, concentrating on the ends of your hair. If you had enought of coconut oil use something else, I use L'Occitane Repairing oil for damaged and dry hair. Or Moroccoan argain oil is great too, so many options. You choose!

Remember to use good quality coconut oil!

30 minutes after my LONVITALITE and The Body Shop clay mask, I finally get to wash everything off and feel like human again! Minus the fact I will be smelling like coconut oil all night, gross.

I use many face moisturizers to mix everything up, so my skin doesn't get used to the same product. Tonight I'll be using Dr.Lewinns eternal youth moisturiser. Needless to say I'm a big fan of Dr.Lewinns products, as much as I also love L'Occitante and Skin Caviar products.
Clinique and La Roche-Posay products are pretty awesome too, especially La Roche-Posay everyday cleansing products and Clinique everyday foundation. They are great if you have sensitive skin like I do and can't even have 3 chips without waking up with a huge pimple on my face in the morning.

Pretty much the French have invented some awesome quality products! Merci champions xoxo
