Potato aphids refrain from sex when the air pressure drops before rain

Brazilian scientists at the University of Sao Paolo first noticed the effect. The Brazilians also tested three unrelated insect species and noticed the same effect in collaboration with scientists at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. It stands to reason that small animals like insects seek shelter when it is about to start raining instead of having sex. A drop in air pressure does not have a similar effect on humans, which every member of the Mile-high club attest to.

It must be very interesting and sometimes even fun work with insects. When I was a child I did not want to understand that such a work existed because I thought that it could not be a job. Then I realized that if it was and I was even curious. documentaries helped me to understand that it was a more serious and interesting work than I could imagine. The reproduction was and always is the main theme. 😅😅

well sometimes I would like to know how to read the room, people tell me that my jokes are too out of context, btw Mile-high club wikipage that's a really interesting entry.

When I saw the photo, he reminded me of a program I saw as a child of these children, that also the ants stimulate them so that they secrete a substance that is very similar to honey and serves them as food. I'm not sure if it's the same species.
And with respect to relationships, I think it happens in other species as well.

Funny one Markku. Makes sense for them to get cover before the rain comes. We have flying ants that come out when it rains. Then they die. Some people eat them.

We had thousands of flying ants in a rental we lived in for about 10 months about four years ago. They would come out of some hole into the apartment at the end of summer. We made a rough count of the ones we poisoned and there were at least 1500.

jajajajaj is a good time to have sex and see how the rain falls, interesting data of insects

No, they DO NOT have sex before rain.
