Pure water is not a good electric conductor - whereas tap water is

Water is the best known solvent and it normally has plenty of all kinds of impurities dissolved in it. When all impurities such as salts and metal ions, in water are removed, what is left is just H2O. When you pass a current through water some dissociation into H+ and OH- happens but not very much.

What was your main subject btw in TUT?

Physics first and later software engineering.

Mine main was chemistry but I've studied quite a lot of industrial economics.

Someone may think and how does that affect me?. Well one work electrolysis, that is how aluminum is made, of course I don't know what they used at the industrial level as chemical compound.

Hi Markku. Electricity back on. Our subsation caught fire last night and has just been repaired. Apparently they use dry ice to remove the carbon. Interesting how the baking soda helps conduct the electricity.

This is really educative. Of course, it serves to educate people and develop the intellects of individual that may eventually become scientists.
