The world's largest biome is the taiga or the northern coniferous forest

A biome is an naturally occurring community of plants and animals that occupy a large distinct region and are adapted to that region.

Biomes on land around the world

The taiga is marked with dark green. Most of Canada, Siberia, Scandinavia+Finland and Northern European Russia is part of the taiga. If you want to see how it looks like, read this blog and check out the photos taken in the suburbs. Out of all forested land in the world, the taiga comprises nearly a third.

I can not distinguish well the area of my country, Venezuela

if i live there my allergies would skyrocket

Do you live in the north or the south of California? Inland or coast?

middle but slightly north. inland

Not inland empire, then.

Do you only get rain the winter?

all i know is that it never snows unless you go to the very north part of california or even more north. but the temperatures where i live is not too cold and not too hot like a desert. i get hail but rarely

If you live in sacramento valley, you have hot and dry summers and mild and wet winters.

Why haven't taiga picked something in the middle?
Freezing winds not fun with my body that loves warm hugs.

so Tiaga covered the huge land being on number third. Thanks for nice share. keep sharing @markkujantunen

You should watch the old Planet Earth episode about different biomes. Part of it was about Taiga and I just think it was interesting to watch

That's interesting how they classify parts of the world based on plants and animals in the regions. So basically that means that parts with the same colour shade can be expected to have the same kind of plants and animal. Hmm

Yes, and the same kind of climate.

Looking at the map I think I am in a biome xeric shrubland, I find myself in the northern of Venezuela our fauna lizards, scorpions, mountain rabbits, rabbets, some hawks, turpiales, big difference with taiga that has bears, and wildcats, the tundra develops large mammals. well That is cool.

Comprising a third of the total forests, that's huge..

huge amount of forest wow, we can get enough oxygen supply from there :D

It is incredible how continents are assimilated if there were no water between them.

community of plants and animals that occupy a large distinct region and adapted to that region

I guess thats why we have a lot of hunters in Africa. They easily go to the forest to hunt these animals.

great blog.hope this post is benefits to the animals lovers people.hope that they will take care on every animal which on distroy at this time.thanks for sharing.waiting for your next post.
