A Larvae Bee Queen!!

in bee •  7 years ago

Hello!! For those who do not know, my brother is a beekeeper and several times I go to help him.
Queen Bee is the largest bee and it is she who bears all the bees in every beehive. It is also rare to see a queen since each beehive has one.
Last day I took a queen picture that was not yet born. This is how it looks like :

I do not know why he died, but he is a rare sight. Because to the size of the bee and my bad camera it does not look very good but you can see a lot of details.

My grandfather was always telling me stories about bees (he had many bees too).
As I can remember, bees (and mostly the queen) has cannibalism instincts and because of every beehive must and have only one queen, in order to keep this they "kill" the new queen if the old queen is not yet in the year to leave the hive. Furthermore, he had told me that if there is born a new queen, the hive send the new one away and give her few workers to make a new start.
