Status: Writing Code w/a Mech Keyboard Sipping on Barrel-Aged Pumpkin Ale

I'm working late tonight (it's currently 11:15pm). I'm coding away trying to get a beta release out. But it's not all bad (it's actually fun) because I cracked open a 2015 bottle of Coronado Brewing's Punk'n Drublic, a bourbon barrel-aged pumpkin ale.

According to the bottle:

Imperial pumpkin ale brewed with pumpkin and spices aged in bourbon barrels

This beer aged quite nicely with mellowed out, but noticeable, spices and only a hint of sherry-like oxidation. What really jumps out is the bourbon barrel-aging with plenty of bourbon-like qualitys plus some pecan, toffee, and vanilla notes. The flavor is slightly sweet but it complements the aroma nicely.A t 8%, booziness isn't a factor.

If the name of the beer seems weird, it appears to be a play on words and an homage to the album Punk in Drublic by the band NOFX, which just so happens to be one of my favorite punk bands.

The mechanical keyboard is a Red Scarf II+ Ver.b that I purchased from a group buy on Massdrop and soldered and assembled myself, with the help of a friend. The keys are SA profile and the set is called The Amazing Chocolatier, which I also purchased from Massdrop. Finally the switches are Zealios 65g Tactile.

Special thanks to @detlev for his generous SP delegation. Now I have enough SP to share these random beer experiences with you! 🍻

Great keyboard and even better looking beer! I will have to keep an eye out for that one

Thanks and cheers! 🍻 It might be hard to find that 2015 bottle. 😉 The keyboard is a lot of fun to type on, it's also fully programmable.

Ha, damn, you might have a point!

It's totally steem punk, cool as anything, (the keyboard!)

This keyboard looks beautiful! I built a 60% board last month but I'm starting to regret choosing the small layout.

I built a 40% Planck a little while ago and I love it. Super portable for coworking and coffee shops. However, despite liking 40%, I don't think I could do a 60%. I need those arrow keys. 😉

The keyboard is also Pumpkin too. So you're a Coder as well. What great news about your Delegation. Keep up your great Blogs, we LOVE what you are doing, CHEERS !

Nice yeti opener. I’ve never been into pumpkin ales, but BBA might be my favorite style. So I’m willing to give this one a try.
