Ok, here we go with the second round of the latest release from The Veil out here in Richmond, VA. It's just been incredibly hot and humid and finally at sunset I felt it was the right time to crack this one open. Here's some background on All Wheat Everything that was a collaboration with Other Half NYC: The hops used in this were Citra, Enigma and Galaxy. There was zero barley used and 100% wheat was used- hence the name.

Here's the initial review right I opened this up:

Upon opening this can I could immediately smell the subtle citrus tones floating out. I poured right into the glass and noticed that the foam did not want to stay, and within a few minutes dissipated. At the end of the can there was a good amount of sediment which I really do enjoy seeing. Once again- a very nice color coming out of this release. A darker orange then Uncle Cousin but not quite as hazy. The flavor comes up gently with notes of citrus and slight bitterness from the hops used. The alcohol content is definitely not all that noticeable... you can sense it in the background when you swish it around your mouth. The aftertaste comes through on this one... I can't necessarily say that I find it pleasant. It has too much of a funky-bitter citrus aftertaste that only gets more bitter after a decent sized swig. I'm really trying hard here to find positive things about this release but overall my impression of this is fairly neutral- neither great nor bad... it really just hangs around in the middle of the road. The flavors just don't seem to take me anywhere or think of anything... I don't feel the enthusiasm as I did with yesterday's Uncle Cousin. Yes, the mouthfeel is definitely enjoyable, but the the three-way hops has pulled this one all over the place with not much of a meaningful direction.

Overall I would rate this release as average. I feel that this beer could easily get lost in the endless IPAs/DIPAs that get produced and have this similar middle-of-the-road profile. If you're looking for your average the semi-average DIPA then look no further if you can find it. If you're looking for that special 4-pack that will get you excited when walking through the door then I would definitely go with Uncle Cousin from this release! Let's see what's in store for us at the next release on Tuesday!
Til' then- Cheers!
