Best Party Beer - Grička Vještica by Medvedgrad Brewery

Everyone is freaking out about STEEM price. Yes it has taken a hit, but is it all over? Not if history likes to repeat itself. I checked out what I drank 5 months ago, and I found an interesting chart of mine.

Just look at the STEEM chart. Where is the bottom, what do you think? If you listened to my yesterday’s advice, you are all that much wealthier now.

Do you remember what soon enough followed? STEEM to $8. I’m not saying it has to rise again but there are such things as market cycles. But do they work as in stocks? If anything, it is only quicker and more volatile here.

What time is it? It’s birthday time! I was thinking of doing a special episode today. What is a best buy if you are planning a party?

You could go macro. Sure. Probably most of your friends wouldn’t mind one bit. But if you go craft, I consider price, vague idea of how it tastes, bottle size and overall quality.

Basically you want something that is not much more expensive than your friendly neighbourhood macro lager, but delivers a solid experience.

You can’t go with very bitter IPAs, sours or anything extravanagant. You want it to be easily likeable. Half a liter is a must. It’s a party, not a tasting event.

In my case I settled for Grička Vještica by Medvedgrad, a doppelbock. Extra on alcohol. Save some time and get everyone tipsy sooner rather than later. Taste is on the sweet side and a bit roasty. Guys and girls can like it easy enough. It’s about 50% more expensive than macro but craft can easily go up to 300% more. They recently switched back to 0.5 bottles, thankfully. And I think it’s a solid beer overall. Last but not least it is not that rare. You can get it in a lot of supermarkets.

Appearance	Deep amber to amber brownish color. SLightly misty. Rocky head which slowly settles. Awesome iconographic on the bottle. An iconic figure in Zagreb history.
Aroma	Malts, some corn. Musk. Manly.
Taste	Lots of barley, some young wine. A bit of roasted taste. It’s not for pussies. I’d imagine dwarves drinking this is some backwater tavern.
Palate	Medium carbonation and body. Silky but then again rough in a way. Leaves sugary aftertaste. Alcohol is somewhat subdued.

Overall	This stuff gets the job done. You want decent high alcohol without too much experimentation, you found your drink. Not the best they offer but the most famous one. This one would get a thumbs up from a layman and a true beer connoisseur. Versatile, everyday drink. Not a delicacy.
